The Detroit Lions Will Be Without A Key Member Of Their Offensive Line This Sunday
Detroit Lions
Practices for the week have concluded and the Detroit Lions have released their injury report for Sunday’s game in San Francisco.
The major story here is starting guard TJ Lang who will be OUT for the game with a back injury suffered in Monday night’s loss the New York. Expect free agent acquisition Kenny Wiggins to fill in for Lang at right guard.
Backup lineman, Andrew Donnal (knee) is also listed as OUT.
Running back LeGarrette Blount is listed as QUESTIONABLE with a shoulder injury suffered in Monday’s game as well. Blount practiced in full this week. Expect to see him out there.
Defensive end Ziggy Ansah is also listed as QUESTIONABLE with a shoulder injury. He was able to practice in a limited capacity after an MRI showed no major damage. He’s on the better side of a coin flip to suit up this Sunday.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers designated three players as OUT on their injury report. Starting wideout Marquise Goodwin headlines the list with a groin injury. Goodwin is one of the fastest players in the entire league and should provide some relief to the Lions game plan. Reserve offensive linemen Erik Magnuson and Joshua Garnett are the others that were ruled out.
San Francisco also listed three players as QUESTIONABLE. Free safety Adrian Colbert, linebacker Malcolm Smith, and guard Mike Person each missed practice until Friday this week where they all got in a limited session. All three are starters at their positions and could cause holes if they’re unable to suit up, especially Person given the depth they are missing with Magnuson and Garnett already ruled out.
