Join us for another installment in our NFL draft 2022 prospect series where we cover a few players at the defensive safety position that the Detroit Lions might be interested in the NFL 2022 Draft.
Detroit Lions Podcast Looks At Safety
The Detroit Lions have a glaring need at defensive safety and there is huge potential in Jaquan Brisker, Daxton Hill, and Lewis Cine for the Lions. All three have potential to be available when the Lions pick at the end of the first round and beginning of the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Which ones will be available, and who will Brad Holmes and company decide is the right fit for Dan Campbell’s defense?
The Lions are moving to a 4-2-5 defensive scheme this year which will lower the need at RB, but increase the needs at cornerback and safety. After re-signing Tracy Walker and signing DeShon Elliot from the Baltimore Ravens, the Lions still have significant need at the position. That being said, there are some great options available and are fully expected to fill that need at the #32 or #34 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft. Check out Colin’s breakdown and see who you think is the best fit for the Detroit Lions.
The 2022 NFL Draft will be a key turning point for Brad Holmes, Dan Campbell, and the Detroit Lions. After a great showing in the 2021 NFL Draft, we will be looking to see how they perform this year and get an indication as to how effective this Detroit Lions front office is in assessing and analyzing draft prospects.
