The decimated Lions travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Lions have achieved in a strange way this season. Playing poorly against teams that they were supposed to beat while playing tight and even beating teams that were supposed to crush them. Its a sort of Yin-Yang, push-pull, giving fans “the ole in and out” (hat-tip: Clockwork Orange).
Detroit Lions Podcast Reacts
This has been a season in which the team has built a level of confidence that far outstrips their record. They’ve proved supremely competent at building a strong culture amongst players, coaches, and in the front office that will definitely carry this team forward. I don’t think the NFL has seen a team play as hard and as “bought in” as the Detroit Lions in the 2021 NFL season.
Against the Falcons this week, the Lions are without starting quarterback Jared Goff and running back D’Andre Swift for the fourth week in a row. Jamaal Williams will be back and Tim Boyle is set to be the team’s signal caller. The Lions are definitely not favored to win this one, but if there’s anything we’ve learned about this team this year – they best chance for a win is when everyone has written them off.
