As the walking wounded Detroit Lions limp toward the end of the 2021 NFL season, they meet one of the top teams in the NFC, the Arizona Cardinals, at Ford Field. This is one of those games where the Lions have no expectation of coming away victorious. Yet, their season has been one where fans can always expect the unexpected. Could this be, “Any Given Sunday” for the Lions?
Detroit Lions Podcast Takes Stock
Knowing the team is in a rebuild and then sacrificing over $113 million of their roster to injuries and dead cap, it was a year of austerity beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. Yet in a season with just a single win, the Lions have managed to outperform expectations. With a couple of different bounces of the ball, they could be a 5 win team. We’ll talk about what this means going forward but for now we look ahead to the Arizona Cardinals and hope that this Sunday is for the Lions “any given” one.
