In this episode of The Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris is Joined by Jeff ‘The Riz’ Risdon, Jim Brandstatter, Sandman, and Erik Schlitt at our 2nd Annual Detroit Lions Podcast Training Camp Party. We cover a lot of ground in front of a live audience at the Uptown Grille in Commerce Township, Michigan.
We spend the first half of the show with Lions broadcasting legend, Jim Brandstatter. Jim opens up about the situation between him and WJR, relives the call and his thinking afterward, he begins to tell us about what’s next for him. Spoiler alert: you’re going to need to add another podcast to your feed pretty soon… We also conduct a flash poll regarding Urban Meyer – and it ends up as you’d probably expect…
After the great discussion with Jim, the Detroit Lions Podcast brings Sandman and Erik Schlitt up on stage for a round-table discussion about the current state of the Lions and what we’ve been seeing at camp. Names like Matthew Stafford, Golden Tate, Frank Ragnow, and we even pour some water on the heat that was surrounding Michael Roberts. We share insights about what we’ve seen, we try to understand where Coach Matt Patricia is taking the team, and what to expect when the season kicks off. Many splendored minds open up here and it’s a great cross-section of the thinking amongst some of your favorite folks in the media.
Let’s not forget the amazing people that came out to the party and made it such a smashing success. They all took part in the podcast with great results. A new play on some old favorites, and a great time was had by all. A huge thank you to everyone that came out and spent time with us, words can’t do justice to the appreciation in our hearts.
