In this episode of The Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Case celebrate three years of podcasting under their belt, and look ahead to year number four. What a great year it’s been, the boys only take a quick moment to celebrate, because there’s a lot more to talk about such as the kickoff of our 2018 Fantasy Football League, we announce the date for our Detroit Lions Podcast Training Camp Party, we talk about the hiring of Jimmy Raye III, the rumors about Rob Gronkowski, and hear a great personal story from Case. Also we talk about when Billy Sims will be joining us.
We start the show with two huge announcements, first: we are kicking off Fantasy Football 2018 and not only do we have the standard cash prizes, there will be an opportunity to win something very special (announced during our next show) in conjunction with your fantasy challenge. We also talk about the Detroit Lions Podcast 2018 Training Camp Party. August 4th is the evening we will all be getting together during Training Camp and also for a live broadcast. We will be joined by a number of Lions fan favorites, this is an event that you don’t want to miss.
After that we talk about a number of Lions issues, including the hire of Jimmy Raye III as Senior Personnel Executive. Jimmy Raye III is an interesting hire, a man who was thought to be GM material this year, with a background in the scouting world who has the potential to benefit the Lions in a number of ways. As a former wide receiver in the NFL, he has playing experience and a history of pointing his finger at high quality talent. He has a lot of expertise to share, hopefully he will last more than a year before being hired away.
We also spend some time on the rumors about Rob Gronkowski coming to the Detroit Lions in a trade. Worry not, folks, it won’t happen. This is silly season stuff that has no meaning other than giving the beat writers topics to pontificate about.
Lastly, Case drops a personal story that is related to football, the show, and his unique personality. It’s well worth listening to, not just for the laugh, but to get an inside look at the mind of a twisted individual.
