In this live episode of The Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Case conduct a live postgame therapy session for Lions fans frustrated by the horrible loss and elimination from playoff contention that the Detroit Lions suffered at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals today.
Well, it was a terrible meltdown by the Lions today. Ineffective at the run, trying to get too cute in coverage, inability of the defensive line to make anything happen, and the playbook that got the coaching staff into the hotseat at the beginning of the year back on full display. The Lions had the game early, and couldn’t do what it took to win, and unfortunate and still prevalent story that, frankly, we’re sick of having to retell.
We talk a great deal about the coaching staff in this episode, particularly the fate of Jim Caldwell. Chris’s opinion morphs through the show via Case’s points, the live chat inputs, and what he heard from callers. We believe the case has been made to put the “ball” in Bob Quinn’s hands. It’s time to move on from Caldwell and swing for the fences, hopefully bringing great success to Matthew Stafford through the remaining years of his career.
We also take your calls and opinions and help everyone through the pain that comes from the game that should forever be known as, “The Cincinnati Shitshow”.
