In this live episode of The Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris is joined by r/DetroitLions moderator and graphic design god, Trevor (PunkRawkinTrev) to help folks come to grip with a tight win over the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.
To play on a quote from Obi Wan Kenobi, this was not the game Lions fans were looking for. Fans thought that the hapless Bears would just roll over and play dead as they had in the majority of their season’s games. Unfortunately, Mitchell ‘Biscuit’ Trubisky showed why the Bears spent so much treasure to move up for him in this years’ draft. This kid has talent, and commands a team that was built to beat the other teams in the division. The Bears came close to taking the Lions down even though they have a number of their key players in the infirmary.
Invariably, Lions fans went into panic mode; many did so as early as the first quarter. What ensued was a knock down, drag out, black and blue division game that could have easily been stolen by the Bears had they not shanked the final kick of the game. The Lions continue to play down to the level of their opponent, and have a hard time putting up ‘convincing’ wins. Certainly something to be concerned about, but they have also managed to play up to the level of many of their opponents this year. This is a team that is paradoxical in their results.
One part of the conversation centered around Case and his trip to Key West. We’ve included a picture of the trip here.
As usual, we took a number of your calls and had some fun and hilarious conversation about today’s game. We had a good batch of callers join us today and they drove some very compelling conversation.
