Lions’ New Uniforms Appear To Have Leaked

The much awaited new Lions jerseys have appeared to have leaked un-intentionally in a season ticket holder e-mail to fans. The original photo the Lions PR/Social Media team put together has the players darkened, but twitter user Josh Hein turned up the saturation levels in the image to get a better view.

The image only really shows the upper half of the jerseys, and the helmets are somewhat visible too. The Lions appear to have four uniforms now, white worn by Marvin Jones, Honolulu blue worn by Ziggy, and grey worn by Sam Martin available for most games, and a new color rush uniform. The color rush uniforms that came out last season that the Lions never actually wore were black, and it appears those will never see the field due to the removal of the color from the team’s scheme. This of course didn’t stop the team from selling these jerseys online or in their Ford Field team store. Anything to make a buck right?

The jerseys appear to have ‘Lions’ branded across the sleeves, and have gone to a block style number. The helmets seem to have stayed silver and the face mask looks to be silver as well. Yet to be seen is what the pants will look like. Personally, I’m hoping that the Lions go away from the grey and get a white pants option. The Giants have white pants that look really good with their blue jerseys, and I think the Lions would look good with that as well.

The jerseys the Lions wore last year were short lived. They came in with Jim Schwartz and the reboot after the 0-16 season. With new president Rod Wood, the Lions have been making many more changes to update the team and brand. Last season he added cheerleaders and blue end-zones, this year Ford Field is getting a makeover and so are the players.

There are exciting changes happening in the Motor City.
