In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Case break down the latest and most important Detroit Lions news, find joy in the Lions march across the NFC North (including their big win over Minnesota), share sounds of the game, and chat with the Riz (Jeff Risdon) about the team’s performance, and more.
During ‘This Week In Reddit’, we talk about the Lions great come from behind win against the Vikings (is there any other kind of win for this team?). Chris brings some sounds from the game including great audio and stories from Ford Field and we also talk more about #SwitchToTheRadio where we highlight the great game calls by Dan Miller and Jim Brandstatter. We talk about the surge in Stafford memes in the subreddit, discuss A’Shawn Robinson and how he uses his big hands to block passes, highlight recent roster moves that include Jake Rudoch, Logan Thomas, Brandon Pettigrew and DeAndre Levy. Unfortunately, we don’t have any Ameer Abdullah news. We also bring you the Fantasy Football Update (including playoff implications), and Case takes us for a trip ‘Around the Division’ (with his wicked new intro) to bring us up to date on the latest breaking NFC North news.
We have an old friend from Detroit on the “Counterpoint” segment this week. Josh Katzenstein, from nola.com The Times-Picayune in New Orleans and formerly with the Detroit News joins us to break down the upcoming game from the Saints’ point of view and brings the kind of insight you can only get from a beat writer. Great to hear Josh again and to get the type of analysis that only he can provide.
This week, ‘The Riz’ (Jeff Risdon), joins us for an in-depth analysis of the NFC North and what the Lions playoff picture looks like. We also have a relatively dark discussion about DeAndre Levy and his future – spoiler: we all want him back. Riz gives us a fun look at the 20 hours of Logan Thomas while Chris does his terrible impersonation of the movie voice guy.
