In this live episode of The Detroit Lions Podcast, Mike the Ambling Bastard and Brandon the Intern join Chris and Case to take part in our Lions postgame show after the disappointing loss to the Texans. The Lions were incredibly inconsistent on the field today and that generated a lot of questions about the competence of the coaching staff as well as some of the players. Chris and Case had a pretty heated discussion about Eric Ebron and his performance today vs. his overall value to the team, and everyone took shots at Jim Caldwell for blowing a challenge on what should have been a Texans fumble and which could have changed the trajectory of the game. Case called it the last nail in Caldwell’s coffin, which is appropriate coming up on Halloween. Jeff Risdon joined us as usual to break things down and bring some broader perspective on what this means for the team and what the season looks like going forward. With a Green Bay loss today and the Lions’ wins over other NFC teams, the Lions aren’t out of it, but they sure need to step it up if they hope to crack the playoffs. We talk about how good it is to be rebuilding many areas of the team and enjoying the successes we have, particularly compared to a dumpster fire like we see in Chicago. A hearty thank you to everyone who took the time to join us on live post game version of the Detroit Lions Podcast!
