With the second NFL Draft under Bob Quinn finished up, it is time to see who the undrafted free agent signings that Detroit is making in 2017.  Follow the action here while we track the Detroit Lions’ actions in grabbing some undrafted free agents. Remember folks, these players are not a member of the Detroit Lions until they officially sign a contract with the team.

We will include try-outs in this list, they will be annotated with an asterisk, just to give you the full list of players to watch out for as any of these guys could end up on the 53 man roster once the preseason is over. Could Detroit bring in the next Antonio Gates, Kurt Warner, or Brian Waters with these signings? Sure maybe not those exact positions are needs for Detroit, but star players that Detroit can sign once the draft is over is a big help and steal for the organization. Everyone that is signed has a chance to become an all-star.

  • Michael Rector – WR (Stanford)
  • Leo Koloamatangi – OL (Hawaii)
  • Alex Barrett – DE (San Diego State)
  • Noel Thomas – WR (UCONN)
  • Brandon Barnes – TE (Alabama State)
  • Des Lawrence – DB (North Carolina)
  • Maurice Swain Jr. – DL (Auburn)
  • Tion Green – RB (Cincinnati)
  • Robert Tonyan Jr. – TE (Indiana State)
  • Jeremiah Valoaga – DE (UNLV)
  • Josh Thornton – DB (Southern Utah)
  • Nick James – DL (Mississippi State)

Here are the players they’ve added Sunday:

  • 1:07 PM: Dontez Ford – WR (Pittsburgh)
