DeAndre Levy Highlights the Injury Report; Many Lions Have Returned With Only One Out

The Detroit Lions are back from the bye week, the players having had a whole extra week to recover and take some time off to rest up. Many players returned from either an illness or an injury, just in time to take on a struggling Jacksonville Jaguars team. Check out the latest injury news below!

DeAndre Levy Finally Returns to Practice

Since getting hurt after the week one game, DeAndre Levy has been on the sidelines with a quad and knee injury. We haven’t seen him suit up in a while and on Wednesday he returned to practice in limited fashion. DeAndre Levy probably won’t play this week against Jacksonville, but his chances to play Minnesota seem higher.

Ziggy Ansah and Theo Riddick Limited in Practice

Ziggy and Riddick have been practicing limited for a few weeks now since sustaining ankle injuries. Both have played through their injuries, so expect both to play on Sunday.

Riley Reiff Over Sickness

That extra week gave Reiff time to get over whatever sickness he was dealing with. He was back at practice fully and should be expected to return to the starting right tackle role on Sunday. Detroit is getting some good players back when it matters the most, boosting their playoff chances.

Darius Slay Practicing

Some other good news is Darius Slay is practicing and doing so fully, not limited. This is great news to hear for the secondary as they have been relying on Johnson Bademosi as the number two cornerback. The bye week certainly helped Slay recover as the Lions need him more than ever in the second half of the season.

Adairius Barnes Out With Illness

Whatever Riley Reiff had, he may have given it to Adairius Barnes. Now nobody knows what Reiff dealt with or if Barnes has the same thing, but once again Barnes misses practice. He has been dealing with injuries for most of the season and now an illness means more missed time for the cornerback.

Jacksonville Jaguars Injury Report

While Jacksonville is struggling, it isn’t because of injuries. They only had four injuries to report on Wednesday. Wide receiver Bryan Walters was limited with a concussion, and offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum was limited as well with a knee injury. Two players missed practice today, linebacker Telvin Smith missed practice due to an non-injury related issue, so as long as it isn’t anything too serious he should be on the field on Sunday. The other player to miss time was defensive end Chris Smith who didn’t practice with an eye injury. No word on how serious it is, but that wacky injury is something to keep a look out for.
