Many Miss Practice for Detroit, Others Limited

Detroit is nearly in the same boat as last week. They got some help in the linebackers with Kyle Van Noy coming back last week, but Tavon Wilson the starting safety got injured and didn’t return. The Lions are pretty banged up and while they have some injuries to a good amount of players, the Chicago Bears are facing even tougher challenges. Check out the latest news and practice updates for the Detroit Lions.

DeAndre Levy and Ziggy Ansah Still Not On The Practice Field

Shocker comes to nobody this week as Ziggy and Levy are still not on the practice field. Both are not expected to play this week at all, so don’t expect any good news this week related to them.

Eric Ebron and Wallace Gilberry Miss Practice, Should Play

Both players missed practice today, Ebron with an ankle injury and Gilberry with his abdomen injury. Both did play last week despite missing and being limited in practice as the week went on. While Ebron missed practice last week with a back injury, this ankle one didn’t take him out of the game on Sunday. They could be missing practice as a precaution for the upcoming game, so expect them both to be back.

Antwione Williams Misses Practice Again

Williams was on the sidelines again yesterday. He didn’t play or practice last week and it seems like that could be the same this week. Detroit cut linebacker Zaviar Gooden and brought back Aaron Dobson, which could indicate that Williams may return this week. Time will tell for this player.

Riley Reiff and Devin Taylor Limited in Practice Again

Both Reiff and Taylor were limited today and were limited last week. They both ended up playing with their injuries, so both should lace up their shoes on Sunday.

Adairius Barnes Still Having Issues

Barnes has been limited the past two weeks and still keeps it going this week. His ankle injury seems to be more serious compared to Taylor and Reiffs ankle issues. Wonder how long he will be limited until he can come back and contribute to the team.

Tavon Wilson Has a Neck Injury

What happened to Tavon Wilson last Sunday doesn’t seem good. While Wilson was limited on Wednesday, a neck injury should be taken serious. Wilson might be limited all week and might miss this week’s game, which he should. Detroit has enough safeties that they could go another week with him gone.

Chicago Bears Injury News

While Detroit is having some injury issues, they are nothing compared to what is happening in Chicago. They have 15 players on their injury report for this week’s game. Five players missed practice and they are: running backs Jeremy Langford and Ka’Deem Carey, linebacker Danny Trevathan, defensive back Harold Jones-Quartey and defensive lineman Eddie Goldman. Chicago knows they are thin at running back and signed former Detroit Lion Joique Bell to help ease the blow. Also cornerback Kyle Fuller was moved to the IR, giving the weak secondary another blow.

The other 10 were limited on Wednesday. Those players were: defensivebacks Tracy Porter and Sherrick McManis, defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard and Mitch Unrein, linebackers Willie Young and Jerrell Freeman, guards Kyle Long and Josh Sitton, wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and quarterback Jay Cutler.

Those are some big names on the limited list and while some might play on Sunday, majority have the chance to miss. Jay Cutler didn’t practice at all last week, so a limited sign is good for the Bears, but head coach John Fox said they are taking it “day-to-day”. If he isn’t good to go, look for Brian Hoyer out there. Alshon Jeffery did play last week, so you have to expect him to play again this week. The rest of the limited players did play last week, so there is a good chance they play again on Sunday
